A well-written resume summarizes your qualifications, skills and qualities to help you land in a job interview.
Here are some things you need to include when writing a resume:
• Your personal details – first and last names, current address, home and mobile numbers, email address and citizenship. Do not include birthday.
• Education – course dates, full course name, educational institute, subjects related to the job, achievements and awards.
• Skills and Qualities – List skills that are only specific to the job and include any technical, generic or transferable skills.
• Employment History – It is common to list your jobs starting with the most recent, and if ever you have course-related jobs, you can include it here. Also, include jobs from that past 5 years that demonstrate the skills the employer is looking for.
• Community/Voluntary Work – this may not be specific to the job you’re applying for, but this will show your initiative, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• The last part of your resume includes your achievements, your interests and hobbies, and of course the three people who have seen you work.
